How to enter the SP (Service Provider) unlock code for RIM Blackberry
Blackberry 8300, 8700, 8800, Curve
Insert an accepted SIM card and power on the phone
Go to Settings menu => and then Options
Select Advanced options => and then SIM card
Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
The phone may show "Network Lock Active"
Hold the ALT key while typing MEPE
You should be presented with a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code". Type in the 16 digit unlock code and push the track wheel / jog dial to confirm
Your phone is now unlocked
Blackberry 8100 Pearl:
Insert SIM into device
Power phone on and Turn off the radio (Turn Wireless Off option) VERY IMPORTANT.
Select "Options" and then Advanced Options
Scroll down and select "SIM Card"
Type "MEPPD" (you will not see what you type on the screen)
It should respond with a screen that shows “Network Lock – Active”.
Type "MEPP then [ALT BUTTON] then 2" (you will not see what you type on the screen)
Enter the Unlock Code
Press enter
Reboot device. Device is now unlocked.
BlackBerry 6xxx 7xxx: ie 6230, 7100, 7290 etc..
Insert an accepted SIM card and power on the phone
Select Options menu.
Now select SIM CARD menu.
Type MEPD for all models (except 7100 in which case in case use MEPPD). What you type will not appear on the screen.
The phone may show "Network Lock Active".
In order to disable this lock type 'MEP2' or 'MEPP2' (Model 7100) and a dialog will appear asking for unlock code. NOTE: You must use the "ALT" or "SHIFT" key to enable input of numbers. An example would be: m-e-p-"ALT key"-2.
Now you should see the place to enter your net unlock code. (If not, you didn't type in MEP2 or MEPP2 properly.)
Enter the unlock code you received.
